this might be a dumb question but genuinely curious how people actually verify this. my ghibli needs some transmission work done, nothing catastrophic just a valve body issue apparently, and every place i call swears up and down they use genuine parts but like how would i actually know that’s true once the car’s already back together and driving. i’m not exactly popping the transmission open myself to check part numbers lol. a friend of mine who’s had work done on his porsche before said he always asks for the old parts back after a repair just so he can at least see something was actually replaced, but with a transmission i don’t even know what i’m looking at half the time so i’m not sure that trick even works for me personally. i ended up asking in a few different groups and someone mentioned looking specifically for genuine maserati transmission repair in sharjah rather than just any workshop that says they can handle italian cars, since apparently sourcing the right parts for these specific models isn’t as simple as just ordering generic ZF components even though the underlying transmission architecture is shared across a few brands. still feels kind of like i just have to trust whoever i go with though which is the part that makes me uneasy, especially after paying a decent amount of money and not really having a way to independently confirm what actually went into the car. anyone have a system or method they use to feel more confident about this before committing to a repair, or is it honestly just down to trusting reviews and reputation at the end of the day because there’s no real way for the average owner to verify this stuff themselves. would appreciate any tips because right now i feel a little bit like i’m just taking someone’s word for it and hoping for the best
