I’ve been having some weird electrical problems with my Patrol lately and I’m starting to think it’s not just the battery. The battery light came on a few times last week and then went away, and now the car’s been struggling to start even though the battery is relatively new. I had it checked at a shop in Musaffah and they said the alternator might be on its way out, but honestly I wasn’t super confident in their diagnosis because they seemed more interested in selling me a new battery than actually figuring out what was wrong. I work near the ICAD area and I’ve seen a few garages around there that look like they know what they’re doing, some of them specializing in electrical work which is probably what I need. I’m hoping to find somewhere that does professional car alternator and dynamo repair in ICAD because I’d rather go to a specialist than a general garage that might not have the right equipment or expertise. The car’s been fine once it’s running, but I’m worried about getting stranded somewhere if the alternator completely fails. Has anyone had similar issues with their Nissan and found a good shop around ICAD that actually knows how to properly diagnose and fix alternator problems? I’d appreciate any recommendations, especially if you’ve had work done there yourself and can vouch for their quality. Also curious what kind of price I should expect for an alternator rebuild versus a replacement, just so I don’t get taken advantage of.
